Before you say a word.
Before anyone reads your bio.
Before they even heard your name.
That first impression is your photo.
And when it truly looks like who you have become, it is already doing the work for you.
Having a professional headshot is not vanity. It is a statement.
That you take your work and yourself seriously. That you value what you bring. That you are ready to be seen as who you actually are.
Your photo is already having the first conversation.
Headshots & Portraits
“I had a wonderful time shooting with Kat and I loved my photos and am so happy with the final results. I had such fun at the shoot and Kat had so many fun ideas and it was great just to play with different poses and I felt at ease. Thank you Kat!”

How it works
We start with a conversation.
I want to know who you are, what you do, and where you are going.
We find the best location for what you need and go from there.
When we meet for our shoot, I will direct you throughout and will give direction on posing, expression, and timing. All of that is on me.
Your only job is to show up and share your
full presence.
Who I work with
I have worked with actors, models, artists and voice artists. Doctors, psychologists, therapists and allied health professionals. Authors, educators and scientists. CEOs, HR managers and consultants. Personal trainers, chefs, DJs, sound engineers and producers.
Anyone who does interesting work and needs photos that show it.
Some sessions go further than a clean portrait. If your work has a setting, a kitchen, a clinic, a studio, or a research vessel, we can shoot there.
Some more editorial sessions are custom-quoted and can also include some photos for social media content as well. And of course, this will require more time for conversation to find the artistic direction and to allow for preparation, play & experimentation.

“Not at my most comfortable in front of the camera, I was dreading having some required headshots taken. But Kat made the experience so easy and fun I almost forgot there were photos being taken at all. And they turned out great as a result!”

What should I wear for my headshot session?
Dress as you would for an important client meeting or appropriate to your profession. Professional but authentically you. Almost everyone feels that way before a session, and almost everyone leaves saying they forgot the camera was there. I guide you throughout and help with posing, expression, and timing. Your only job is to show up.
Can we shoot at my workplace or a location relevant to my work?
Please ask your boss ;)
From my side it’s a 'Yes, please’’. Some of the best portraits happen where people actually do their work. If your work has a setting that tells a story, or is visually interesting, we can shoot there. Depending on time and location, these editorial sessions are custom quoted. Get in touch and tell me what you are having in mind.
Do you photograph actor headshots in Melbourne?story or
Yes. Outdoor natural light or studio – both work well for actors. The 60-minute session is ideal for those needing variety across looks and characters.
